A very interesting, yet complicated system is shown in figure 4, called a three-dimensional system. In this case the difference is that the dry signal is treated, which comes directly from a power amp, while the effects enter the mixer and are stereophonically sent to another power amp.

In this case the quality of the sound is absolutely the best, because the dry sound has its own personal amplification system, and the effects have their own. This type of amplification, which is used by many guitarists and is ideal for big stages, can be made up of an amplifier (combo or header and speaker) which has its normal amplification system, and its own rack of effects. The dry signal coming from the line out of the amplifier is sent to the rack effects, which should be equiped with a mixer. The configuration of the connections for the rack effects can be similar to that shown in fig. 4, with the difference being that a signal dry coming from the line out of the amplifier arrives in channel 1. Also in this case the sound quality of the dry sound (fig. 5) and the effects is maintained as well as good quality effects, which always has to furnish 100% of the effect, that will then be mixed to the dry signal.
