The most interesting subject and one of the most difficult is without a doubt the improvisation.
In fact, when analyzing a specific technique on the instrument, when talking about scales, chords, fingerings, when studying theory and harmony, you are talking about nothing more than rules. Because fundamentally music is similar to mathematics, with its rules, thoeries and laws.
You can use whatever terms you wish but the concept is the same: the information. Music is a field full of information where anyone, either by themselves, with the help of learning aids (books, video, CD-ROM, internet), or with one or more teachers can evolve from a technical standpoint. But there is something deeper and more personal in all this: the musician's soul (non religious). This term characterizes the real musical "me", which is your creativity. This is probably the most difficult thing to explain and, even harder, to teach.
Lets try to see the musician in the work phase. If on one hand somebody can learn to play and perform the so-called cover, copying already written songs (good or bad, depending on the technical preparation), and from the other you need to be able to create, to compose, arrange, then it is here where you need to use your musical creativity. Certainly, we are not all geniuses, however the practice, the analysis of the style and the work of other musicians, combined with a "desire" to play and to grow, can sometimes have very unexpected results. The difficulty is in explaining how to create something from zero (laws = composition), and how to improvise within a song.
We will analyze the improvisation following some directives such as the analysis of a song, a structure or a sequence of chords, all from a purely technical point of view, and above all, from a creative aspect: everything that you find in this section must be taken as a stimulus for personal growth of the actual "me" music. Besides the scores as learning aides, there will also be midi bases so you can practice the lesson. It's not easy, but practice and desire can result in some interesting gratifications.
Finally, if you don't find what you are looking for in these pages but you have some doubts about improvisation on particular songs or harmonic sequences, don't hesitate to ask. I will do the best I can to respond to your requests.
