Now lets play exercise 5 in reverse. We have to play the groups of sixteenths from the first to the sixth strings, as seen in the score below. Once you have returned to the first position, play the piece in the fifth position. The same thing can also be done on exercise 6.

Here is a progressive-classical exercise, that takes full advantage of the potentials of string skipping. Analyze it from a melodic and harmonic view point, and carefuly check the fingerings and the picking, which is recommended as alternate for the entire exercise. You can listen to the base midi to evaluate the exact sound.
As always, the same rules apply to perform the exercise: initially play very slowly, memorizing all the passages and the fingerings, until you are familiar with the song, then increase the speed, which in the attached base is 140 bpm. Have fun.
